Completed by the generous donation of the Reiman Family Foundation, the Healing Chapel is the centerpiece of the Conservancy. With its soaring east-facing window, it peeks over the tree tops; reminiscent of chapels scattered across Poland. As you enter, a quiet stillness washes over you and your spirit is more at ease.
The heritage expands 70 years with the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and includes a strong spiritual component; one we carry forward today by serving the entire southeastern Wisconsin community.
The Conservancy for Healing and Heritage mourns the passing of Roy Reiman on September 16. Roy founded Reiman Publications in 1965 and throughout his career was known for publications like Taste of Home, Our Iowa and Our Wisconsin. Roy graduated from Iowa State in 1957 with a degree in agricultural journalism.
Through the years, Roy’s passion for the Milwaukee Community was seen in his generosity - including sponsoring the beautiful Reiman Healing Chapel in the Woods at the Conservancy. Mr. & Mrs. Reiman made the commitment to this beautiful Chapel for those seeking renewal, comfort and support.
Roy and his wife Bobbi demonstrated time and again in helping the greater Milwaukee Community one special project at a time.
"Mr. Reiman will be remembered as a caring man with visionary ideas. Every person who enters the Reiman Healing Chapel in the Woods feels that spirit support them. Every single person is helped. We will miss him dearly. We join with Mrs. Reiman and the family in this time of remembrance ", Susan Rabe, CEO and Chairwoman of the Board.
Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi (Prayer for Peace)
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
" From dark soil and hard seeds, new life springs forth on prairies, gardens and bogs and wherever they grow, peace, harmony and healing also seem to be part of the harvest. " Read a story from the Catholic Herald by clicking below:
Where do you go to find inspiration and "let go"? We invite you to stop in.
In the midst of a busy day, take a moment to quiet and calm your spirit. Or as part of your "prescription for yourself", find a moment of peace and support as you gaze at the serene woods and lake through the windows. And around you as nature is brought indoors.
Programs and retreats are offered year round. The Chapel is also available for wedding ceremonies, baptisms and life celebrations. Please contact the Conservancy for more information.
The Chapel is open Monday - Friday, 8am to 5:00pm.
We welcome life's milestones at the Reiman Healing Chapel and We Energies Foundation Healing Garden. Weddings, Baptisms and Celebrations of Life have more meaning in our peaceful, natural environment.
Arrangements and bookings must be made with the Conservancy. All events must be confirmed. There is a User Agreement required and cost for use .

Healing Chapel in the Woods is a peaceful place
“I want to share that the Healing Chapel is where I go for frequent prayer and personal retreat time. I also bring our Women's groups and RCIA candidates for retreats. Thank you for building this beautiful, reflective prayer center.”
Sponsorship of ongoing programs for our community means we can continue serving all who visit. Your support will enable us to help many. Thank you!
